The Ottmar Liebert concert in Portland was an interesting experience. The artist's music is much in evidence on this bill, and the focus on contemporary music is a good thing. While many classical music fans will be disappointed at the lack of new or original material, the importance of this event is the old and the restyled versions of same. Liebert is no unfamiliar face, as the artist is well-known and loved for his music either stand-alone or as a part of various symphonic and other band airs. This show is no exception, as the artist will be performing his latest work, which was last performed at the pacifica radio prize and grammy-winning piece, '12 compelling minutes'. It is clear that liebert is more than only a music artist, as his work is seen as an art form as well. The music was well-matched to the mood and atmosphere of the event and the sound quality was top-notch. The crowd was very friendly and supportive, which was great to see. The players themselves were very pleasant to work with and created a very positive environment. The sound quality was impressive on all platforms, from big tvs to small devices. I would highly recommend this concert for anyone looking for a good, affordable concert experience. The artist was unknown to most people in the city, and he had to wait for the perfect opportunity to come out and play. Additionally, the concert was only in Portland, and the artist was from munich, so there was some regionalism there as well. Overall, the concert was interesting, and it was nice to finally see him.
